Vena “Big Money” Nelson is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and strategic financial advisor with more than 30 years of executive-level experience guiding organizations through growth, complexity, and transformation. She is the Founder and CEO of Go Big Accounting, Inc., a boutique advisory firm approaching its 10-year anniversary, providing CFO-level insight, tax strategy, and compliance leadership to small businesses, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations.
Throughout her career, Vena has led financial strategy across diverse industries including healthcare, higher education, real estate, construction, faith-based organizations, social services, and entrepreneurship. Her work is distinguished by a rare ability to stabilize operations, navigate complex regulatory environments, and design sustainable financial infrastructure that supports long-term growth.
Vena’s professional background includes senior leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, where she has overseen large-scale financial operations, grants management, internal controls, and audit readiness. This experience enhances her advisory work for organizations operating in regulated, compliance-driven, or publicly funded environments.
In addition to her advisory practice, Vena serves as Chief Financial Officer of Global Estates, LLC, a family-owned real estate and construction enterprise with a multi-million-dollar portfolio. In this role, she oversees acquisitions, financing, compliance strategy, and contractor certifications, supporting sustainable development and long-term asset growth.
A passionate advocate for economic equity, Vena is deeply committed to supporting Black-owned businesses and community-based organizations through access to capital, strong governance, and disciplined financial management. She is currently developing culturally rooted, technology-enabled systems designed to scale advisory services, compliance, and wealth-building opportunities for entrepreneurs nationwide.
Vena holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Illinois State University, and is licensed as a CPA in the State of Illinois.
